Ryan Burkart

Ryan Burkart

At Dartmouth: Ryan appeared in only two games last season as a freshman and he took a redshirt year after breaking his leg. He appeared in the first game of the season at Illinois-Chicago and in the game at Vermont on November 29 but didn't have the opportunity to dress for the remainder of the year. Ryan is a solid defensive player and has worked hard since the injury to come back and make a solid contribution this season.

High School: Ryan played his junior hockey for the Wexford Raiders and was a member of four straight Metro Toronto Championship teams. In 1991 his team also won the Ontario Provincial Championship.

Personal: A superstitious person, Ryan looks forward to the physical play that can be counted on in each hockey contest. In the off-season, Ryan enjoys teeing it up on the golf course, and he lists his favorite movie as the hockey comedy, Slapshot. His father, Michael, played hockey at the University of New Hampshire in the early 1970s.
