Scott Baker
At Dartmouth: Scott enters his final season as the top returning goaltender after originally making the team as a walk-on. As a junior last season, Scott backstopped the Big Green to a second-place finish at the
Sheraton/USAir Classic at Vermont. In the two games, he stopped 53 of
57 shots and was named the tournament's MVP. He also reached a personal milestone in the team's 3-1 win over RPI on February 16. In just his
40th game, Scott recorded his 1,000th career save, becoming just the 14th
Dartmouth goalie to do so. He tied his career-high with 39 saves at Vermont early in the year, and 11 times turned away 30 or more shots.
Against Ivy League foes, Scott posted a .906 save percentage and 2.73
GAA, tops among Ivy netminders, and he earned second team All-Ivy. As
a sophomore, Scott made a strong showing between the pipes on the
team's trip to Switzerland, and upon Dartmouth's return to the States,
earned his first victory, a 4-2 win over Providence, in his first-ever start.
For his performance in 1994-95, Baker received the John Manser Award
as the team's most improved player. |
