Hanover, N.H. - Doug Sproule scored both the game-tying goal and the gamewinner as the Harvard men's hockey team outlasted Dartmouth with a 3-2 overtime victory at Thompson Arena.

The come-from-behind win snapped a three-game losing streak for the Crimson and improved its record to 6-8-2 overall, 5-5-2 in the ECAC. Dartmouth fell to 8-5, 3-4 with the loss.

Despite being outshot, 46-14, for the game, Dartmouth actually built a 2-0 lead after the first period on goals by juniors Jeremiah Buckley and Charlie Retter.

But as Crimson goalie J.R. Prestifilippo held the Big Green at two for the remainder of the evening, Henry Higdon got Harvard going with a goal at 8:14 of the second period.

Then Sproule came alive, tying the game with a slap shot from between the circles at 14:06 off an assist by Joseph Craigen.

The two found each other again 3:11 into the overtime, as Craigen set up Sproule for the deciding shot that sailed into the upper right corner of the net. Marco Ferrari was also credited with an assist on the final tally.

Prestifilippo ended the night with 12 saves for Harvard, while Dartmouth freshman Eric Almon stopped 43 Crimson shots in the losing effort.
