Darren Wercinski

At Dartmouth: Darren continued to grow into a all-around forward after being moved from defense prior to the 1993-94 season. With three goals and five assists last year, Darren is the seventh-leading scorer among Dartmouth's returnees. As a freshman, he played in 24 games and tied for 10th in scoring with five goals and six assists for 11 points. Darren won the John Manser Award as the team's most improved player for 1993-94. His first collegiate goal came in a 7-4 loss to Northeastern at Thompson Arena. In Switzerland, he tried paragliding in Crans-Montana.

High School: Darren was captain of hockey, football and tennis at Eveleth-Gilbert High School. Senior year, he led the hockey team to the Minnesota state championship.

Personal: Darren's off-ice interests include golf, table tennis and whiffle ball. His favorite television show is Cheers, and his favorite musician is Al Green. Darren lists his father as his role model "because of the ethic of hard work he lives by."
