Shane Ness

Defense

At Dartmouth: A strong, defensive-minded player, Shane played in 24 games last season. He broke into the lineup in the team's second game and was teamed regularly with the Green's top defenseman, Trevor Dodman. Shane dished out one assist and had just eight penalty minutes despite his physical style. His favorite memory of last season's trip to Switzerland was the visit to the Olympic Museum in Lausanne.

High School: Shane played his junior hockey with the Penticton Panthers.

Personal: Shane lists his favorite player as Wayne Gretzky, whom he once had the good fortune to meet. His favorite things to eat are roast beef and cheese steaks. Shane enjoys the acting of Al Pacino but lists his favorite movie as the classic hockey comedy Slapshot. His most memorable sports moment was scoring on a penalty shot with one minute to play in a game that propelled his team to first place in his junior hockey league.
