Dan Bloom

Forward

At Dartmouth: Dan continued to make a smooth transition from defense to offense last season. Playing forward, he saw action in 19 games and contributed six points. As a sophomore, Dan (who may be the fastest skater on the team) played in 25 games, scoring three goals and handing out seven assists for 10 points while splitting time between offense and defense. Dan played in all 27 Dartmouth games as a freshman, with his trademark a big slap shot from the point. He showed his ability in the offensive end of the ice with one goal and six assists. He lit the lamp in a 5-4, home win over Colgate, igniting the Big Green's rousing comeback from a four-goal deficit.

High School: Dan was a three-sport athlete at Hotchkiss, competing in hockey, football and golf. Senior year, he earned All-New England status while helping the hockey team to a 20-7-1 record and the New England Prep School championship. Playing split end as a senior, Dan also helped the football team to a New England title and an 8-1 mark.

Personal: Dan enjoys a steak for dinner, but for dessert he likes to munch on Nutter Butters. His favorite book is The Firm, and he roots for the Chicago Blackhawks and the Dallas Cowboys. In his spare time, Dan concentrates on artistic endeavors, and he likes to play golf and basketball. Dan says Vermont's Gutterson Field House is the toughest ECAC rink to play in because "the fans are so loud."
