Dartmouth Men's Hockey to Host 6th Annual Toy Drive

HANOVER, N.H. - The sixth annual Dartmouth Men's Hockey Holiday Toy Drive will kick off on Saturday, December 14 against the USA 18-Under National Team.

People can bring unwrapped toys to the game for underprivileged children.

"This shows the type of quality people we have in the hockey program at Dartmouth," head coach Bob Gaudet said. "I think getting involved and helping the community is great. Our players have developed a special bond with the kids in the community and we are pleased to contribute in any way we can."

The team asks that fans bring a new, unopened toy to Thompson Arena. Those fans are then eligible for a raffle that will include autographed sticks and a pair of tickets to an upcoming Big Green contest. Winners will be announced during the game against the University of Vermont on Saturday, January 18th. The team will spend part of the Winter break distributing the toys to children at the Children's Hospital at Dartmouth (CHaD).

"Our players are extremely excited to share the Christmas spirit with the children at CHaD," co-captain Trevor Byrne said. "There is nothing more exciting than seeing the smile brought to a young child's face when they receive a Christmas gift. We hope the community will support us in this special event and help to contribute some gifts in the holiday spirit."

Face off on Saturday is scheduled for 7:00 p.m. and tickets may be purchased at Thompson Arena one hour prior to the game. Phone orders may be placed at (603) 646-2466 or on on-line at www.dartmouth.edu/athletics.
