At Dartmouth: Turner played a key role for the Dartmouth team, appearing in all 34 games as a freshman. He finished the season with six points (2g, 4a) and had a team-leading +14 rating. Turner registered his first multiple-point (1g, 1a) game in the ECAC playoffs against Vermont (3/15). He also notched an assist in the clinching game against Rensselaer (3/10), giving him three points in a two-game span. Turner netted his first collegiate goal at Union (2/3) and earned his first point at Harvard (11/11).
High School/Juniors: Turner graduated from Phillips Andover Academy and was captain of the team as a senior. He recorded 30 points (10g, 20a) in 25 games and was named to various All-League and All-Star teams. Turner was twice named a Hockey Night in Boston tournament All-Star and was also a HNIB All-Scholastic player. He was selected to play with both the 16 and 17 Massachusetts select teams.
Personal: Turners father, Michael Sr., is a 1972 graduate of Dartmouth College and was captain of the 1972 squad. He was the Big Greens scoring leader in 1970, 1971 and 1972. The younger Turner lists the Dave Matthews Band as his favorite group and Caddyshack as his favorite movie. Turner names the Boston Bruins and Detroit Red Wings as his favorite NHL teams and enjoys the play of Bill Guerin.
