At Dartmouth: Gillings had a breakthrough season last year, collecting 29 points (11g, 18a) and winning the team’s most improved player award. He established career highs in all offensive categories. Gillings opened the season with five points (3g, 2a) in the first three contests, including a three-point game in the Big Green’s win at Brown (11/10). He averaged a point a game in 15 contests (12/15-2/10), recording five goals and 10 assists. Gillings had four points (1g, 3a) in the five ECAC playoff games to close the season, including the game-tying goal with less than a minute to play against Vermont (3/15). He had eight multiple point games and had a career-high four-game point-scoring streak (1/12-1/20). The Big Green was 7-3 when he scored a goal and 12-4-1 when he had an assist. Gillings appeared in 22 games as a freshman and chipped in two assists. He set up a goal in a 4-3 overtime loss to St. Lawrence (1/28) and he picked up an assist on an ECAC playoff goal at Rensselaer (3/11).

High School/Juniors: Gillings is a product of the North Battleford North Stars from the Saskatchewan Junior Hockey League (SJHL). He picked up 63 points (30g, 33a) and is a two-time all-star and an assistant captain. Gillings was also presented with the North Battleford Fan’s Award.

Personal: Gillings lists Rounders as his favorite film and enjoys listening to The Tragically Hip. He cheers for the NHL’s Edmonton Oilers and lists Doug Weight of the St. Louis Blues as his favorite player.
