| High School/Juniors: Wheelihan joins the Big Green after playing last season with the Milton Merchants of the Ontario Provincial Junior Hockey League. He scored 52 points (18g, 34) and was named to the OPJHL All-Star game. Wheelihan is an intelligent player with good on-ice vision and is the lone Canadian recruit in the class.
Personal: Wheelihan is the son of John and Susan Wheelihan. He lists Braveheart as his favorite movie and Kid Rock as his favorite musical act. Wheelihan cheers for the Edmonton Oilers and is a fan of Detroit Red Wing captain Steve Yzerman. Away from the rink, Wheelihan enjoys playing golf and weightlifting. |
