| High School/Juniors: Turner is one of the top defensemen in New England Prep School Hockey. He graduated from Phillips Andover Academy and was captain of the team as a senior. Turner recorded 30 points (10g, 20a) in 25 games and was named to various All-League and All-Star teams. He was twice named a Hockey Night in Boston tournament All-Star and was also a HNIB All-Scholastic player. Turner was selected to play with both the 16 and 17 Massachusetts select teams.
Personal: Turner is the son of Michael and Cheryl Turner. His father, Michael Sr., is a 1972 graduate of Dartmouth College and was captain of the 1972 hockey team. He was the Big Green's scoring leader in 1970, 1971 and 1972. The younger Turner lists the Dave Matthews Band as his favorite group and Slapshot as his favorite movie. Turner names the Boston Bruins and Detroit Red Wings as his favorite NHL teams and enjoys the play of Steve Yzerman. |
