| High School/Juniors: Gastrock is an athletic goaltender with tremendous balance and is exceptional quickness. A member of the Waterloo Blackhawks of the United States Hockey League, Gastrock appeared in 46 games last season. He posted a 23-21-2 record and a 3.44 goals against average in 2,649:26 minutes played. He also had a .900 save percentage. In the playoffs, Gastrock allowed 2.97 goals against per game and had a .920 save percentage. He won the Royal Cup with the South Surrey Eagles of the BCHL in 1997-98. Gastrock won a Canadian National Championship and was also Player of the Year. In 1999-2000, he was named Player of the Year by the Waterloo Fans.
Personal: Gastrock is the son of Robert and Judi Gastrock. He enjoys listening to the Dave Matthews Band and is a fan of the Washington Capitals and the 1999-2000 Venzina Trophy winner, Olaf Kolzig. Gastrock lists Braveheart as his favorite film and he enjoys running and camping.
