Dartmouth MCB Alumni Network Web Page
We've developed a new resource for graduates of the MCB Program at Dartmouth. Check out the "Resources" section below to connect with MCB graduates via the DMSNet Alumni Directory, the Dartmouth College Alumni Directory, and the MCB Facebook page. DMSNet has been updated with new content aimed specifically at PhDs - you can search for MCB graduates by their career field. So you can look for people in academics, biotech, law and other fields who can give you helpful advice and insight as you explore career opportunities. This site is set up for current students and former students alike. We'll also be featuring stories about MCB graduates, with our "MCB Alumni Profile" column and our "Graduate Q & A" feature. Come back and visit often!

Susan Arruda
Dr. Susan Arruda, 2005 graduate of Dartmouth's Molecular and Cellular Biology (MCB) Program, now assistant professor at Franklin Pierce College, is working to bring high quality research and research opportunities for undergrads to a small liberal arts setting.
Susan's formative interests in biology started while she was in high school, where her success and enjoyment of Biology classes spurred her on to become a Biology major in college. As an undergraduate, Susan studied at the College of the Holy Cross in Massachusetts. Her interests in cellular and molecular biology grew to the point where she decided to pursue a Ph.D. in this area. The Dartmouth MCB program provided what she was looking for in terms of quality of research and location.

Matt Wargo
Most graduate students can trace their interest in life sciences to particular experiences in childhood or to an instructor in college whose passion for science inspired students go to an 8 a.m. class. The same holds true for Matthew Wargo, although his path to a career in life sciences had a few more twists and turns.
Matt Wargo grew up in Burlington, New Jersey, a few hundred yards from the Assissicunk Creek, which is a tributary of the Delaware River. Surrounded by marsh and woodlands, Matt developed an interest in nature and science early on. He attended and graduated from Susquehanna University, a small liberal arts college located in central Pennsylvania, with high honors in 1998. He majored in biology, with a minor in chemistry. That may seem like a logical choice for someone pursuing a career in life sciences, but Matt changed his major four times.
