    Peru's Camisea Gas Project is currently the most damaging project in the Amazon Basin. Located in the remote Urubamba Valley in the south-east Peruvian Amazon, the $1.6 billion project includes two pipelines to the Peruvian coast cutting through an Amazon biodiversity hotspot described by scientists as "the last place on earth" to drill for fossil fuels. Nearly 75 percent of gas extraction operations are located inside a State Reserve for indigenous peoples living with little or no contact with the outside world, who have been forcibly contacted by the Camisea consortia in violation of their internationally recognized rights. A gas processing plant is being built on the Peruvian coast within the buffer zone of a marine reserve of international significance. 2004.

    Plot:En lengua quechua, las expresiones “estoy pensando”, “estoy recordando” y “soy tu pensamiento” se traducen en una sola palabra: yuyachkani. El grupo de teatro que asumió este nombre, era consciente de que evocación, y pensamiento, tradición, identidad y cultura peruana tenían que plasmarse en un proyecto teatral con una estética y una dramaturgia propia. Los Músicos Ambulantes representan este particular momento de hallazgo y de síntesis. Parten de una sencilla anécdota basada en el cuento infantil “Los músicos de Bremen” de los Hermanos Grimm; cuatro animales músicos procedentes de distintas regiones de Perú: una “señora gallina” de la costa; un burrito de la Sierra Sur; una gata de la selva y un perrito norteño, dejan a sus patrones por diversas razones para ir en busca de la ciudad sus sueños. Se van encontrando en el camino y deciden formar un conjunto musical. Para su director, Miguel Rubio, la obra es un homenaje a lo que la memoria nos ha enseñado, una metáfora de las negociaciones que tenemos que hacer para entendernos entre nosotros mismos y se acerca en gran medida al ideal de vida en solidaridad.
      
    Fiesta y teatro son los ingredientes de esta comedia musical peruana que fue estrenada en 1982 y que sigue transmitiendo la misma magia de las primeras actuaciones, crecida con la experiencia adquirida. Esta creación emblemática del grupo YUYACHKANI marca el inicio de su profesionalización en el teatro y la búsqueda de un actor multidisciplinario. El resultado es un trabajo bonito y vistoso, con mucha música popular peruana, máscaras y bailes.

    Plot:Yuyachkani y la persistencia de la memoria. Yuyachkani otra vez en las tablas. Vuelven para conmemorar treinta años de teatro, por los derechos humanos, vuelven para no olvidar. Afirmaciones sumamente ciertas El Informe de la Comisión de la Verdad y Reconciliación ha sido el motivo más influyente para que los Yuyachkani vuelvan y nos brinden la posibilidad de disfrutar de su mejor repertorio, hasta el catorce de diciembre en su casa, la casa Yuyachkani. Augusto Casafranca, actor del grupo comenta sobre sus motivaciones. “El informe de la Comisión de la Verdad ha sido determinante para que nosotros tomemos la decisión de hacer una temporada con espectáculos alusivos a los derechos humanos”, dijo el actor. Yuyachkani desarrolla una propuesta que lucha contra la impunidad, contra el olvido y los derechos fundamentales. “El teatro es una manera de conjugar la vida y el trabajo, esas dos facetas han permitido que nosotros vayamos ambientándola con cada espectáculo, con cada obra, con cada confrontación con el público.     Dentro de ese contexto de la presentación de El Informe de la Comisión de la Verdad y Reconciliación, el grupo teatral Yuyachkani fue consciente de la importancia histórica del suceso y participó activamente durante las audiencias públicas y en la presentación final en Ayacucho. Esto ha provocado nuevas lecturas sobre sus emblemáticas obras reunidas bajo el título de "Persistencia de la Memoria" que se presentaron entre octubre y diciembre y se convirtieron en lo más sólido y coherente del año escénico
