The Dartmouth campus master plan, led by President Carol Folt, Provost and the Board of Trustees, is being conducted in-house by Campus Planning and Facilities along with a team of master planning consultants.
The master plan process began with a nationwide search for a visionary consulting team with experience working with a complex campus like Dartmouth's. The master plan selection committee, with representation from all facets of the college, conducted in-depth interviews before submitting their recommendation to the president.
The New York firm of Beyer Blinder Belle Architects & Planners was chosen to lead the master planning effort. Michael Van Valkenburgh Associates, based in New York and Cambridge, MA, will serve as landscape architect. Together, the two firms have had experience of campus planning and design at nearly 40 colleges and universities across the United States. The master plan team also includes BFJ Planning with Resource Systems Group, for transportation and parking, Jacobs Consultancy for space usage, and Nitsch Engineering for stormwater planning.
