Federal financial aid programs are available to US citizens enrolled at least half-time and making satisfactory progress in a degree program. Federal financial aid to graduate students is available through the Federal Stafford Student Loan program, the Federal Perkins loan program, and the Federal Work-study program.
The Dartmouth College Graduate Student Financial Aid form must be completed to notify us of your intention to apply for financial aid. Download the Graduate Financial Aid Application and return to the MALS office.
All students who wish to apply for federal financial aid must complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) after January 1 of the year you plan enrollment. This form must be completed each year. Graduate students may renew their applications. Complete the application online at the FAFSA website: http://www.fafsa.ed.gov
Dartmouth's school code is 002573.
The FAFSA form does have a signature requirement. If you have been issued a Personal Identification Number (PIN) this number can be used to sign your FAFSA form. You can apply for a PIN on line at www.PIN.ed.gov. Your PIN number can be used to access your FAFSA and to check on your Federal loans.
If you do not use a PIN to sign your FAFSA form and want to file the form on line, be sure to print the signature page, sign and mail it according to the instructions provided.
