Lutheran Campus Ministry — Expanding Minds, Deepening Faith, Inspiring Service
Lutherans have much to contribute to the discussion about what it means to speak of someone well educated. Martin Luther, himself a professor at Wittenberg University, lifted up the importance of connecting education and vocation in the world. Education is worldly in the best sense of the word. And to be a well educated man or woman implies in large part to be a person of both competence and conscience. I hope in this centennial year of Lutheran Campus Ministry you will consider participating in Thursday’s conversation on “What does it mean to be well educated?”
Is job preparation enough? Is a degree from Dartmouth, Harvard or……Yale enough? How does (or should) the secular institution impart wisdom and meaning?
Date: Thursday, March 29th, 7:00 to 8:30 PM, Dartmouth Hall, room 105.
Moderator: Dean Dan Nelson
Presenters:
Lori Arviso Alvord
DHMC Surgeon, Dartmouth graduate
and member of the Navajo Tribe
Edward Boraz
Rabbi of the Roth Center and
Dartmouth Hilllel
James Murphy
Associate Professor of Government
