THE AUDACITY OF HOPE is the first book we are reading and discussing in 2009. This book was published by Barack Obama in 2006 and explores how we might go about changing our politics and civic life. It is a book of Obama’s reflections on what led him to public life, ways our politics divide us, and ways that his experience as a senator, lawyer, husband, and father, Christian and skeptic have informed his ideas about achieving the common good. Copies of the book are available in the library. So, please join us for meaningful conversation about living today, stimulated by what we read together. If you have already picked up your book, please read the prologue and Chapter 1.
