The first service of Easter, from darkness to light, begins with the lighting of the Easter fire, leading into the darkened sanctuary. The evening also includes sacred storytelling, Baptism and Reception of New Members, the Easter Gospel, and First Communions. A champagne (or other fizzy fruit beverage) and chocolate celebration follows! This service is planned with both children and adults in mind. It is a solemn, yet joyful, two hours (maybe a nap is a good idea for the kids earlier that day!).
