Youth, Student, and Young Adult Ministry

h1

Our Savior is committed to educational ministry and to providing a community of faith within to travel in each stage of life.

Our Youth Ministry has an exciting new face with ecumenical Youth Groups for both Middle School and High School youth. In cooperation with St. Thomas Episcopal Church of Hanover and the Church of Christ at Dartmouth College (UCC), Our Savior hosts the Middle School youth every other Friday evening and the High School youth have met bi-weekly in the facilities of the other churches. Currently Freddie Ghesquiere ‘04, Josh Hurd ‘08, and Nathan Empsall ‘09 are leading the Middle School and High School Youth Groups. For questions about the Middle School and High School Youth Groups, please contact Freddie by phone at 603-643-4155 x107, or by email: frghesquiere@gmail.com.

Our Savior was established in 1955 with a ministry to and with Dartmouth students as well as the surrounding communities. Students are regulars at Sunday worship and have served in service projects and on various committees, in the choir or as instrumentalists, as Assisting Ministers, ushers, and readers, on the Church Council, and as Sunday School teachers. Additionally, the Lutheran Student Fellowship has in the past met weekly on Wednesdays during term time, sometimes for “check-in”, sometimes for a meal, and has cooperated with the Episcopal Student Ministry in offering Taizé worship at Rollins. We work closely with the Tucker Foundation at Dartmouth, particularly with planning the Tucker Seminars, and one of our students serves on Tucker’s Interfaith Council.

The Young Adult Ministry, which includes graduate students and young adults “in their twenties and thirties”, has begun to blossom, meeting every other Saturday for a meal and/or activity, and every other Sunday evening for prayer and Bible study.
