Praying
Several methods of prayer were shared at the August Women’s Retreat (”Praying Unceasingly”). Here are two that you may find helpful.

The Jesus Prayer
This prayer, also called the Prayer of the Heart, is a short, formulaic prayer often uttered repeatedly. The exact words of the prayer have varied from the simplest possible involving Jesus’ name to the more common  extended form: “Lord Jesus Christ, Son of God, have mercy on me, a sinner.”  The use of the Jesus Prayer is the subject of the 19th-century anonymous Russian spiritual classic “The Way of a Pilgrim”. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jesus_Prayer

The Celebrate Folder and Prayers of Intercession
Everyone is encouraged to take the copy of the Celebrate folder and the bulletin home with you after worship for continued meditation and information reference. You may want to keep the Celebrate folder on your dining room or kitchen table next to a candle to pray the various petitions on the back page throughout the week. This wonderful suggestion came from Wendy and Paul Manganiello, who shares these prayers in their own centering and reflecting.
