(12/03/09) DISASTER RELIEF QUILTING MARATHON, Thursday, 9:00 - 1:00, Cana Hall

h1 Wednesday, October 7th, 2009 at 12:22 pm

A Lutheran World Relief quilt is something special.  It brings warmth on a cold night, shelter from the sun on a hot day.  It becomes a bed, a room divider, a backpack to carry belongings, and at times, even a home.  Most importantly, each quilt is a symbol of God’s love.

We invite you to join hands with the LWR Quilters and others from the Upper Valley.  If you haven’t been before, just come - no skills are required, training and materials are provided!  If you have been, you already know how fun and rewarding it is!  Work as long as you can, an hour or two or more.  We have some sewing machines, and some people bring their own as well.  Meals are provided on marathon days.  If you have any questions, please contact the church office.
Last year with help from the community, quilters at Our Savior Lutheran Church completed over 200 quilts for distribution to refugees and victims of disaster.  Together with members from the community we have already completed over 100 quilts since June.  Our Quilting Schedule is as follows:
