While at Dartmouth Ernesto made it a point to become an activeleader in the community. During that period he spent alot of time working closely with students,giving as much guidance and support as possible. He tried to take on a Fatherly nature while working with various student groups. In addition, and most important, during his time at Dartmouth, Ernesto had a son. Roberto Luis Cuevas is now 5 years old. "

Brief Biography:
Ernesto Cuevas, Jr. was born in Harlingen, Texas and raised in Plant City, Fl. The son of former migrant farm workers, Ernesto grew up in the fields with his mother and farther. It was there that he grew to love the arts. The support of his parents and their transition from the fields to a more stable life style gave Ernesto the ability to begin searching for both academic and artistic empowerment.

The Boys & Girls Clubs of America has had a profound impact on Ernestošs life. At the forefront of his Boys & Girls Club experience was his art. Ernesto has spent a lot of time working with youth in the arts, both through the Boys & Girls Clubs, and on his own.
Ernesto attended Dartmouth College in Hanover, NH where he majored in Studio Art, and concentrated in oil panting. Ernesto is currently the lead graphic designer for Enterprises Computing Services, Inc. in Woodstock, Ga. Prior to working with ECS, Inc. Ernesto was working as a graphic designer and 3D animator with the technology support group at the C. Everett Koop Institute. Also, Ernesto is actively working as a painter, illustrator, and freelance designer. His most recent painting commission was for the newly established Latino Resource Center at Dartmouth College.

Ernesto proudly raises his head as a Chicano and a Latino. He believes very firmly that his family is his foundation and his community is his inspiration.

What do you see yourself doing in 5 years from now?
"Within 5 years, I will be running my own design firm and will begin the process of owning my own gallery. "

10 years from now?
"With the design firm and gallery well under way, I will hope to be working extensively with Latino youth, to encourage their participation in the arts. "

20 years from now?
"Within this period I hope to have started the Cuevas School of Arts for underrepresented youth. This goal is meant to encourage and develope the artistic skills that our youth have, but are often sacrificed due to life situations."

Hobbies:
football, soccer, playing guitar, drawing, painting, working with the Latino community in Atlanta.
