Brief
Biography:
I was born in Barranquilla, Colombia but raised in West New York, NJ. Both my parents are from Colombia, but with Mexican, African, Ecuadorian and Italian blood thrown in down the line as well. I attended Harry L. Bain School (PS #6) from K-8th grade, where I graduated as valedictorian. I then earned a scholarship to the Dwight-Englewood School as a New Jersey SEEDS Scholar. Upon graduation, I made my way to Dartmouth College, and the rest is history! Currently, I am working at a major insurance brokerage firm in midtown Manhattan, with aspirations to return to school and obtain an MBA/MS in Sports Business Management down the road.

Title: Client Representative II
Why did you pledge?
"I personally pledged in order to better serve my community at Dartmouth. I knew coming in that I wanted to continue to build my leadership skills in order to empower the under-represented. I also wanted to have a group of diverse, unique, and talented men to call my hermanos. Being the only child, I never had the chance to experience the meaning of brotherhood. These men not only helped fulfill our collective goal of empowering our community, they went above and beyond to empower me. They helped shape me into the person I am today, and I am forever grateful."
Favorite moment as a Hermano:
"To be honest, my favorite moments will always be our road trips…the times we had with each other to just have fun and let loose and really get to know each other. Of course, if I had to choose one moment above the others, it would be our 10 Year Anniversary at Dartmouth. Having so many brothers on campus was moving for me. To see how far our organization has come was inspiring and to be able to share that moment with the Dartmouth community was definitely special."
Advice to interested men:
"My advice to you is… make sure you know why you want this. Make sure you do your research in order to ensure that you are doing it for the right reasons. Don’t let the parties, stepping, and greek para overshadow the virtues and origins of this Hermandad. Do it for you, do it for your community."
