Further notes on Silas G. Barker and family:

Silas Goodnow Barker, b. Sudbury, Mass., 15 Nov., 1784, son of Ephraim & Ruth (Goodnow) Barber
Polly Marshall, b.-- Mass., 1782, dau. of
They were m. at Dorchester, Mass., 19 Nov., 1808
Children:
1. Louisa, b. 23 April, 1810, d.y.
2. John Marshall, b. 16 July, 1813
3. Mary, b. 15 Dec., 1815, went to Lowell, Mass. at the age of 18 years. She d. unm. in Lowell, Mass. 16 March, 1904 (age 89)
4. Ruth, b. 1 May, 1818. She m. Oliver Ellis.
5. Ephraim, b. 15 Aug., 1820
6. Sewall, b. 25 Dec., 1822...... d. in the Civil War, 12 Jan., 1862 (age 40).
7. Lovisa, b. 25 July, 1825, was living in Proctorsville in 1904. She d. in Minn. in 1914.

Polly (b. 1782) , wife of Silas, died of cancer at Chester, 8 Sept., 1856 Silas d. 18 Aug., 1858.
After their deaths, the rest of the family left the area.

*Note: Eprhaim Barker was born in Pomfret, Conn., 28 Feb., 1759, son of Ephriam & Hannah (Grow) Baker). He was a farmer, and married 27 March, 1783 to Ruth Goodenow. (See Barker Genealogy)
