I was watching "Full Metal Jacket" while biking indoors today, so this article seemed quite fitting.
Math
Oh yeah, so my fears about my math midterm were again unjustified; i got a 95 (or A as they say). I missed one multiple choice question. I'm still surprised that I didn't miss more, but I'm not complaining.

Weather and Midterms
I just want to note that when I got up to get breakfast yesterday, it was 14 degrees outside (but my flannel shirt seemed to do the trick).
As for the econ midterm, I lost one point on the free response and got 6 multiple choice questions wrong. However, it turns out that I was one of 5 people to get the first open answer question right. The question involved graphing the price effect and the income effect when a good in a 2 good system changed price. Of course, most other people got more of the multiple choice questions on the subject right than I did. I just thought that it was interesting.
As for my math midterm (which I had yesterday) it felt a lot like the last one, bad. I think I did ok on the open answer section, but there were several questions on the multiple choice section that were quite hard. I think this was in part because it turned out there was a misprint one of them, and so there was no right answer. I kept coming back to this problem and wasting a lot of time until it was announced that there should have been a 2cos(theta) where there was a cos(theta). However, we were given an extra 15 minutes, so I doubt any real harm was done.

Folks, the grades from midterm 2 are up on Blackboard.
Please make sure to go over these questions again, and understand the answers. I am sure many of you are as disappointed as I am about your results. In particular, the big areas of problems were: income and substitution effects; and taxes. These *are* important, and they *will* come up again (on the final), so make sure you're on top of it.

I got an 81, which is lower than I had estimated, but I assure you that there will be a recount... The class average was 77.21. I'll live.

Econ update
The answers for the midterm were just posted. It looks like I missed a few more multiple choice questions than last time (I counted 4 this time) but aced the free response questions. The test is 100 points, 60% from 20 multiple choice questions, and the rest from 6 free response questions. So the early exit polls give me 88%.
Econ
I just took my second econ midterm, and I felt that it went well. I did more review than last time because I think the topics we covered were more complicated. This meant that there were more places to screw up, so I'm not as confident that I did well. I'm guessing that I didn't do as well as last time, but I probably did above average.
