This website exists to help Dartmouth College Library employees identify opportunities for staff development, to describe the library's orientation program, and to stimulate ideas and dialogue concerning orientation, training, and development needs. The site is under continuous development by the Staff Development Committee, which welcomes your comments and suggestions.
Minutes and other working papers of the Staff Development Committee are available to library staff on the SDC Wiki.

Dartmouth Mentor Exchange
Success in today's world is directly related to the ability to learn, grow, change and adapt as quickly as our changing jobs require, which is not always easy to fit in with your day-to-day work requirements. The very nature of libraries requires that development, both personal and professional, be a lifelong activity for us. We know that people develop through a combination of the experiences they have, and what they learn from these experiences, as well as the coaching and feedback they get along the way.
Participants in the Mentor Exchange program can at times be mentors and at other times mentees, depending on their needs and skill sets.
For more information about this program or to sign up for an information workshop please contact Lisa Ladd -Staff Development Committee or Kerry Jones - Director of Workforce Planning and Organizational Effectiveness.
