Faculty from across campus will share their views and experiences with different approaches to making their course materials more openly available to students at Dartmouth and elsewhere. This is a great opportunity to share views, practices, and tools (such as use of Creative Commons), and to discuss future directions in this changing environment, including the CHE news that Blackboard will provide an option to share course content, using a Creative Commons license.

Please join us on Monday, October 24th for a virtual seminar devoted to a discussion on the changing landscape of scholarly communication and scientific publishing. The speakers (John Wilbanks, Consent to Research Project, formerly with Berkman Center and Science Commons), Heather Piwowar (NSF Data Cyberinfrastructure), and Molly Keener (Scholarly Communications Librarian at Wake Forest University) will address what STM subject librarians and other information professionals should understand about the changing nature of publishing. They will address how librarians can better communicate with their patrons and researchers concerning many of these issues.
