Reunions at Dartmouth
June 7 - 17 is reunion season at Dartmouth, and Rauner Library always enjoys
welcoming the classes back to campus. In addition to the many alumni who come in
to see yearbooks, freshmen books, past issues of The Dartmouth, or the
photographic
collection, returning classes often hold exhibits in the library during reunion
week.

Lady Franklin Bay Expedition
The Lady Franklin Bay Expedition, roughly ten years after Bradford's photographic
book, is an excellent example of the other extreme of the
polar regions. The expedition, under the aegis of the International Polar Year
program, traveled to Lady Franklin Bay on Ellesmere Island and there nearly froze
and starved to death.

This is the 3rd edition. Published by Bernard Quaritch in London in 1872. Bound
by Sangorski and Sutcliffe of London.
A similar edition and binding is thought to have sunk with the Titanic.

Sine Illustrated Books Collection
Edward P. Sine, Class of 1951, was the donor of approximately 3,000 original
watercolors and drawings by noted British illustrators and 6,000 books
illustrated by them, about them, or referring to them; as well as related
materials.
