How to Participate

Participation in The War Years at Dartmouth: An Oral History Project is open to alumni (and their spouses who were on campus with them) of the classes of the 1940s. Interviews are conducted in Webster Hall, home of Rauner Special Collections Library. In special circumstances, arrangements can be made to do selected interviews in the homes of alumni.

Interviews will be taped in a quiet classroom in Rauner Library. Most interviews last for approximately one hour. Each narrator will be asked to sign a standard release form that gives permission to Dartmouth College to use the interview for educational purposes and turns copyright ownership over to the College.

The interviews are recorded digitally with an analog backup copy. The digital copy is stored on a secure server and will be cataloged and made available to the public via this website. The interview will also be available for listening in Rauner Library.
