Using the Book Arts Workshop

March 27, 2009

To our Book Arts friends,

I am pleased to announce that in the 2009 Spring Term the Book Arts Program will be the site of College Course 11: Book Arts Studio Seminar.  Lynne Avadenka, a noted book artist from Michigan, will co-teach this course with Prof. Halasz of the English Department.   The class will meet in the Baker Rm. 21 & 23 studio space during their class period as well as during hours supervised by Ms. Avadenka.

In order to provide studio time for both members of the Upper Valley who are interested in letterpress printing and binding AND the College Course we ask the following:

  • The traditional Monday & Tuesday studio time will be reserved for students and members of the community who are NOT enrolled in College Course 11.
  • College Course 11class time will be closed to the outside.  All studio hours monitored by Lynne Avadenka will be restricted to College Course 11 students.  The hours will be posted or announced in class.

This is very much an experiment for all involved.  The Book Arts Instructors are committed to providing studio time for those members of the community who have participated in the Book Arts Program in the past or who are interested in dropping by to find out what it is all about.  By allocating the time in this way we hope to be able to support all participants.

If you have any questions please contact me.
