Book Arts Workshop: Letterpress Rules

Letterpress Rules

Equipment, materials, and instruction are provided free of charge to all members of the Dartmouth Community. In return we ask that you follow these basic rules:

  • TIE UP your type at the end of the evening and store in the galley with a galley slip.
  • ALWAYS fill out a galley slip with your name, font information, email, phone number, and the date.
  • DISTRIBUTE (put away) your type within two weeks of completing a printing project OR by the end of the term.  Book Arts Prizes will not be awarded unless an instructor verifies the type has been distributed by the entrant.
  • CLEAN your press. If you don't know how to clean it ask an instructor.
  • DISPOSE of materials in a safe and proper manner.
  • When in doubt - ASK!

Failure to follow these simple rules will result in loss of studio privileges.

THANK YOU
The Book Arts Workshop Instructors

Deborah Howe, Bob Metzler, Peter Mittenthal,  Sara Owen, Stephanie Wolff
