Canon: Tunnel book with cloth-covered drop-spine box; digital printing on a variety of papers.
Canon explores the notion of tunnel vision that can occur when limiting one's experience to only the canons of a particular field. There are a number of ways to interact with Canon: looking through the opened book from the front – through the limiting perspective of a canon; from the back – viewing the whole spectrum at once; or without opening the covers of the book at all and exploring it from the outside. The structure for Canon was informed by traditional tunnel books in Rauner Library which commemorate contemporary events from the 19th and 20th centuries. – Linden Vongsathorn, ‘10
