Paddock Music Library

Paddock circ desk Paddock Music Library houses the music-related collections of the Dartmouth College Library. In 1962, with the occasion of the founding of the Hopkins Center, Lois Paddock Hicks and Orton Havergal Hicks '21 endowed Paddock Library in honor of Nellie F. and Frank A. Paddock. The library moved to its present location on the lower level of the Hopkins Center in 1986.

Paddock stacksThe library's collections support courses offered by the Department of Music, the interdisciplinary needs of other Dartmouth academic departments, and the music research and recreational needs of Dartmouth students and faculty. The diverse collection includes monographs in a variety of music subjects, scores, sound and video recordings, reference materials, journals, and digital resources. Compact discs and video media and all print material except reference and unbound journals can be checked out of the library with a valid library card (Dartmouth ID or guest borrower card). Music manuscripts, archives, and the sheet music collection may be found at Rauner Special Collections Library.
