Setting up your PIN for the Library Catalog

About your PIN (Personal Identification Number)

All persons with borrowing privileges at the Dartmouth College Library can set up a Personal Identification Number (PIN):

Having a PIN is necessary to use the Self-Checkout Stations located in campus libraries.

For DHMC, Guest & Affiliated Borrowers a PIN is also required for logging into your library account.

Instructions for setting up your PIN

For Dartmouth Faculty, Staff and Students, first log into your library account and then:

  • Scroll down to the "Forgot your PIN or need to create your PIN?" link. This will bring up the "Library Catalog Account Verification" pop-up window.
  • Enter your name and netID. Leave the "Enter your PIN" blank.
  • An email is sent to your email address. Click the link in that email.
  • Enter your name, netID and then enter a PIN twice and hit submit.
