About Z39.50 at Dartmouth

Dartmouth College library's Z39.50 server supports version 2 and version 3 of the protocol, Query Types 0 and 1, and supports Initialization, Scan, Search and Present. Item and holding information is sent when our server receives requests for FULL data in the OPAC format. OPAC format requests for BRIEF data return just bibliographic and holdings information.

NOTE: In 2008, the hostname used to make Z39.50 connections to the Dartmouth Library Catalog changed!  The hostname became catalog-lib.dartmouth.edu.
