Priority Processing

"Priority" cataloging is available for in-process materials, when there is no specific patron waiting for them but the bibliographer feels that processing should be expedited. Library bibliographers may identify materials for priority treatment after the materials have been received. We ask that these materials not be identified at time of order, since tracking this information can be time-consuming, and a great number of titles are cataloged on receipt, regardless of any special cataloging instructions.

Bibliographers will receive monthly lists of titles that have been received in the previous month, but not cataloged immediately. These lists are intended to give bibliographers the opportunity to identify materials that might require priority treatment, and to notify Cataloging and Metadata Services.
