Scanning Documents/Images

Description:

Computing and Media Services of the Biomedical Libraries maintain a flatbed color scanner in each Library for use by the Dartmouth Medical School community. The scanner in the Matthews-Fuller Library is attached to a Windows computer. The scanner in the Dana Library is attached to a Macintosh computer. Each station has scanning and image editing software, and basic scanning information is posted at each station. Each station is connected to the network and have both USB ports and ZIP drives to facilitate the transportation of scanned images. You must provide your own USB thumb drive or properly formatted 100 MB ZIP disks.

The Library staff can only offer minimal assistance with the software on the scanning station.

Photocopier Scanning

The photocopiers now have the ability to scan a document or picture in black & white and send it to email without cost to you. See the photocopying page for more information.

Use of the scanner must be consistent with the Dartmouth Computing Code, other policies of the College, and state and federal law. Specifically, scanning copyrighted material for non-academic purposes or scanning ID's are specifically prohibited.
