Finding Articles about the History of Medicine

Take advantage of the ability to limit your Medline search to articles in the History of Medicine subset.

PubMed: Enter your search terms into the query box and then click on the Limits tab (below the query box). Select “History of Medicine” from the Subsets drop down menu. This will limit your search to articles in history of medicine journals and selected citations from other journals. Click on the “Go” button next to the query box to execute your search. Ovid: Do your search as usual. Then click on “More Limits” (under the search box), select the search you want to limit and select “History of Medicine” from the “Subject Subsets” selection box. Then click on the red “Limit a Search” button.

Select “OLDMEDLINE for Pre1966” from the Subsets drop down menu. Click on the “Go” button next to the query box to execute the search.
