Use of Cell Phones in the Libraries

The Biomedical Libraries are committed to providing an environment that is conducive to study and research. We have developed the following guidelines in response to concerns about nuisances due to cell phone use.

  • When you enter either the Dana Biomedical Library or the Matthews-Fuller Health Sciences Library, turn off the phone's ringer and/or set it to vibrate.

  • If you need to use your cell phone, please be considerate of others and go to a non-reader area in the library (e.g., the stairwell in the Dana Library), or go outside the library. (If you do go outside the library, please be sure to take your valuable belongings with you.)

  • If you wish to report inappropriate cell phone use, contact a library staff member at the nearest service desk.
