Scholarly Communication: Issues and Trends for Scholars and Librarians at Dartmouth College

History of Scholarly Communication Developments at Dartmouth

The Council on Libraries has been involved in presentations and discussions of the issues and possible actions since at least 2004. The Council on Libraries recommended that the library provide an informational website and develop a Dartmouth Author's Amendment, in collaboration with other administrative areas of the College. These projects are underway. Other presentations and discussions are taking place among librarians and faculty across the campus within the departmental context.

A faculty member and two librarians participated in the ACRL/ARL Institute on Scholarly Communication in December 2006. An Environmental Scan and other planning documents were prepared before this Institute, refined during the Institute and these plans are being implemented.
