Travel to Hanover and Dartmouth College
By car:
- Two interstate highways pass within a few miles of Hanover and make driving from Boston, New York, or Montreal an easy trip.
- From Boston (135 miles): take I-93 which merges with I-89 in Concord, New Hampshire. Use Exit 18 off I-89 and follow signs for Hanover, about four miles.
- From New York City (250 miles) and Connecticut: take I-91, use Exit 13 and follow signs into Hanover, about one mile.
- From Montreal: (190 miles) : take the Champlain Bridge to Route 10 east, and follow the way indicated to Route 35 south, approximately 110 km out of the city. On Route 35 south, it is another 30 km to the U.S. border-crossing at Stanstead. After crossing the border into the U.S., follow I-91 south towards White River Junction. Use Exit 13 off I-91 and follow signs into Hanover, about one mile.
By air:
- USAirways Express provides service to Lebanon (NH) from New York. The Lebanon airport is approximately 7 miles from campus.
- Several airlines service the Manchester (NH) airport, a distance of 75 miles.
- Several airlines service the Burlington (VT) airport, a distance of 70 miles.
Bus connections:
- Vermont Transit provides service from Hanover/White River Junction to Manchester airport. No reservations are necessary. Vermont Transit also provides frequent bus service, including express runs, between Hanover, White River Junction, Boston (including Logan Airport), New York and Montreal. - To reach the terminal from Hanover, one may catch the Vermont Transit bus
connection from the Hanover Inn, which leaves three times a day, one may take
a taxi, or one may use the local Advanced Transit bus from Hanover to the White
River Junction bus terminal. It leaves at quarter to the hour every hour from
6:45 AM to 5:45 PM. The Advanced Transit depot in Hanover is located in front
of the Dartmouth Bookstore, and the trip takes approximately 25 minutes. Advance

- The Dartmouth Coach provides seven bus trips daily between Boston's Logan
Airport and the Hanover Inn. The cost is $35 each way or $55 round trip. The

Train:

Amtrak provides the area with daily service from a northerly or southerly direction. White River Junction, Vermont is the nearest stop.
