Student Activities

The Leslie Center collaborates with students on a variety of ventures in the arts, humanities, and interdisciplinary fields. The Center can offer publicity and administrative facilitation. The Center tends not, however, to serve as a primary funding source for student projects.

Examples of activities the Humanities Center could publicize on its website or help to sponsor include, but are not limited to:

  1. Films and invited lectures, either singly or as a series
  2. Art exhibits
  3. Stage or musical performances
  4. Interdisciplinary forums or symposia
  5. Student publications
  6. Experimental ventures into new artistic/intellectual fields
  7. Projects leading to curricular innovation

The Dartmouth Contemporary, a student publication sponsored by COSO and the Humanities Center, provides a forum for reviews, essays, and interviews of or about contemporary literature and the current literary scene. Generally published three or four times a year, the review aims to stimulate intellectual discourse about books.
