Conference Logistics

How to get there:

Dartmouth College is located in Hanover, New Hampshire, an idyllic town in the Connecticut Upper Valley. It can be reached:

by car:

I-91, exit 13, or I-89; exit 18. Travel time from Boston is about 2 hours; from New York City about 6 hours.

by air :

Lebanon, NH airport, served by US Airways, 15 minutes to campus (taxi). Manchester, NH, served by most major airlines, 80 minutes to campus. Shuttle bus service available from Vermont Transit (Phone 800-552 8737).

Boston (Logan) airport, 2 3/4 hours to campus. Shuttle bus services available from Dartmouth Coach (Phone 800 637 0123) and Vermont Transit.

by bus:

Vermont Transit to White River Junction, VT, and Hanover, NH, from Boston, NYC, and Montreal.

by train:

Amtrak to White River Junction, VT, from NYC and Montreal. Phone 800-872 7245.

Hotels:

Blocks of rooms at a special conference rate are being held at the following hotels:

Airport Economy Inn: singles and doubles $ 95. Call 800-433 3466 BEFORE SEPT. 12. Located at 45 Airport Rd., West Lebanon, NH; 15 minutes to campus.

Chieftain Motor Inn: singles $80, doubles $90. Call 603-643 2550, ask for Theresa, BEFORE SEPT. 12. Located on Rte 10N, Hanover, NH; 5 minutes to campus.

Comfort Inn: doubles $149, with 2 nights minimum stay. Call 802-295 3051 BEFORE SEPT. 28. Located on Sykes Ave., White River Junction, VT; 15 minutes to campus.

When booking, be sure to mention the conference. PLEASE MAKE YOUR RESERVATIONS AS SOON AS POSSIBLE. AT THE HEIGHT OF THE FOLIAGE SEASON IN NORTHERN NEW ENGLAND, HOTEL ACCOMMODATION WILL BE DIFFICULT TO FIND.

Parking:

Parking on campus lots is free on Saturday and Sunday. There is a large parking lot centrally located on Maynard Street, between Rope Ferry Road and College Street. Moore Hall, where all sessions take place, is on the other side of Maynard street. For more parking information, phone 603 646 2204.

Things To Do:

October being the perfect time to get outside in northern New England, we would like to suggest a Sunday afternoon hike (weather permitting) for those who are able to stay around.
