  • Similar to the New Hampshire Legal Assistance program, Vermont Legal Aid is available to those individuals who meet certain financial eligibility requirements.

Vermont Lawyer Referral Service

  • The Lawyer Referral Service provides callers with the names and telephone numbers of attorneys in certain criminal and civil practice areas. There is no fee for this service.

Vermont Public Defenders Office

"Since 1972, the Office of the Defender General has evolved into a complex service delivery system consisting of two separate programs, Public Defense and Assigned Counsel. There are seven county staff offices with 35 attorneys and a variety of support staff, including investigators, secretaries, paralegals and case aides."
