Titcomb Cabin:
Ledyard owns a small tract of land on Gilman Island, which is roughly 1km downstream of the clubhouse on the Connecticut River. In the early spring of 2009, Titcomb Cabin, which stood on this land, burned down. In the summer of 2010, a group of Ledyard members took on the challenge of rebuilding the cabin to its original specifications, including using the original log construction methods. You can read about the construction on the construction blog.
Once construction and inspection are complete (an as-yet-to-be-determined date), Titcomb will again be part of our rental program. The cabin will be available for $10/person/night. The only way to get to the cabin is by boat, and it provides a great site for an overnight adventure away from campus, especially for students during their sophomore summer. Reservations for Titcomb must be made in advance, and are on a first-come-first-served basis.
