Dartmouth Lung Biology Center 2013 Pilot Project Program
Scope: The Lung Biology Center (LBC) requests applications for Pilot Project Program (P3) Awards that advance the understanding and treatment of lung disease. The goal of these awards is to fund high-impact basic, translational, and clinical research, to strengthen LBC faculty interactions via mentoring and interdisciplinary collaborations, and to leverage extramural funding opportunities.
Pilot projects are funded by the NIH Lung Biology COBRE, the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation Research Development Program, and the Geisel School of Medicine through multiple mechanisms. To identify appropriate matches and to provide early-stage feedback, investigators are required to submit a one-page letter of intent describing the proposal. Responsive proposals will be selected for second-stage application and review by the appropriate mechanism.
Eligibility: This Pilot Project RFA is open to faculty holding the Ph.D. and/or M.D. degree(s) whose research falls in the area of Lung Biology. Junior faculty serving as PI must identify a senior LBC faculty mentor. No funding will be provided for faculty investigator salaries, service contracts, off-site expenses or any indirect costs.
Deadlines:
Letters of Intent: March 27, 2013
Final submission: May 1, 2013
The detailed RFA is available at the LBC website
