The Dartmouth experience is very similar to plunging through the rabbit hole into wonderland. You shrink and grow constantly, meet a throng of interesting individuals who challenge your logic and intellect, and before long, you find yourself in the garden.
As the advisor to Latino/Hispanic students at Dartmouth, I serve as a resource to students in order to help them make the most of their experiences on campus and beyond. The Office of the Latino Advisor provides the student with personal counseling, academic advising, mentoring, programming, advocacy and consultation services. Students can also learn about a variety of opportunities through the latino Advisor Office such as internship programs in their fields of interest to information on many Dartmouth programs.
Dartmouth has a very vibrant Latino/a community that serves as a learning tool inside and outside of the classroom. In addition to programming that is available through the Advisor's Office, student organizations such as La Alianza Latina, Movimiento Estudiantil Chicano de Aztlan, Nuestras Voces, and La Unidad Latina and events like the Fall Festival and the Cinco de Mayo celebration provide students with new opportunities to explore areas of cultural, social and intellectual inquiry. The Dartmouth experience is one of growth, challenge and community.
