Latinos at Dartmouth Resource Guide

Alex Baron Hernandez-Siegel, A&S '99 was raised in a Puerto Rican family in the Queens area of New York City. He attended Millersville University of Pennsylvania and American University in Washington, D.C. for his bachelor's degree in cultural anthropology. He went on to earn his graduate degree from Dartmouth.

Alex arrived at Dartmouth in September 1994 and has served as the Advisor to Latino/Hispanic Students since September 1998. Prior to being appointed the Latino Student Advisor in the Dean of the College division, he served as Assistant to the Director of Equal Opportunity and Affirmative Action at the College, where he assisted in the coordination of several affirmative action committees and the Campus of Difference diversity awareness program. Prior to Dartmouth he also served as a research intern for the Governor's Advisory Commission on Latino Affairs under Governor Robert Casey in Pennsylvania. He currently also serves as a co-advisor for several student organizations at Dartmouth such as La Alianza Latina, MEChA and La Unidad Latina.

In his spare time, he enjoys playing his bassoon and African drums, reading, writing, and exploring hiking trails in New Hampshire and Vermont.
