Who Are We?
HQ76.3/New England is a social/professional organization of gays, lesbians, bisexuals and transgendered people working in libraries in New England.
We have been around since early 1993. Aside from our frequent potluck meetings and annual march in Boston's Gay Pride, we have sponsored readings, held fundraising events,
produced bibliographies, maintained an increasingly visible presence at OutWrite each year, and served
as a valuable source of networking among ourselves and to other gay/lesbian and library-related organizations.
In 2001 we became an official section of the New England Library Association.
We now have our own listserv !

A group of Simmons GLBT students and alums are planning to meet in
the Boston area periodically for dinners.
An invitation is extended to other HQ76.3/New England members to come to their upcoming dinners, which
will be announced on this site.

Our officers for 2008/2009 are:
- Chair - Katie McDonough
- Program Chair - vacant
- Treasurer - Jeff Cronin
- Web Manager - John DeSantis
- Archivist - Martha Stone

Check out this wonderful gay/lesbian bibliography of books and periodicals set in the Boston area and/or by Boston-based authors.

HQ76.3/New England was a major contributor to the indexing project for
Liberating Minds, a groundbreaking anthology about the lives of gay, lesbian and bisexual librarians. Several of our members have essays in this marvelous book.
